Google releases new browser

September 11, 2008 · Filed Under Useful Applications, Windows Vista, Windows XP

This might infact be old news now, but since I haven’t been able to update the blog in quite a while, it might as well have a little discussion about Chrome, the new browser from Google.

Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier.

I have used Google Chrome myself and although it’s a new browser, I don’t really feel that it has anything really good to offer compared with Firefox. I’m more of a Firefox fan myself and all the features that Chrome currently offer, are available in Firefox. There are some features I do like though that are built in.

Good Features:

  • Incognito Windows (Doesn’t leave a trace of browsing history).
  • Search direct from address bar.
  • Most visited sites show on main page.
  • Bookmarks on main page

There aren’t that many innovative features in Chrome, but it is in beta, just the few features it does have are a little useful and make you wonder what else Google has up their sleeve’s. ;)

Yet another browser to have to make everything work in :(

Not necessarily, seeing as Chrome is based off of WebKit which is what Apples Safari uses. If your site works in Safari, the chances are it will be fine in Chrome too.

I love Chrome to be honest. A beta browser with a number of stuff missing but it still is awesome.

When wanting to find the best deal for something, then comparison is a must. Whilst it's very important to compare home insurance and things like that, it's also a good idea not to forget smaller - but still essential - things like pet insurance comparison as well as broadband comparison.
