How to stream media to your Xbox 360
TVersity is a well known application to some people, and to others, it’s an application they’ve been dreaming of. Basically, TVersity allows you to stream all types of media to your Xbox 360 without needing to convert it yourself. This great application converts all your video files on the fly if it needs to.
First, you’ll need to download TVersity from the official website: http://tversity.com/
Once you have downloaded and installed TVersity, you may need to install some codecs for the best possible experience if you’re using Windows Server as your media server. You can download these codecs from: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/ACE_Mega_CoDecS_Pack.htm
Once you’ve installed the codecs, start TVersity. Once TVersity starts it’ll take you through a few steps in which you can add shared folders etc. Once you’ve completed this, you’ll have a screen similar to the following image:
Once you have got this far, click on library, then click on "Add Item", a small box will appear, on this you can choose if it will be a file, folder or internet media. If like me, you have a large movie collection, you’ll want to add a folder, which is default. You now just need to click on "Browse", choose the folder you want to be able to view on your Xbox 360, then click OK and Submit.
Once you’ve done all of this, wait a few minutes and then your movies will be added. You can add movies, music and much more by doing this. It’s up to you.
If you now turn on your Xbox 360, simply go to your Dash Board, then go along to the Media tab, choose Videos and then you should see something similar to "TVersity on Server: 1". Hopefully you do see this, if not, you should make sure your firewall isn’t blocking the port that TVersity uses in settings. Just simply choose TVersity in Videos and you should see a list of the folders/movies you’ve added. Choose a video/movie and it should start streaming to your Xbox.
Now hopefully you have a nice TV so you can watch all your movies on it.
